American Open Asset Ledger. A community-driven public asset registry. Submit, review, trace, verify.

About AOAL

We're new. Trust has to be earned.

American Open Asset Ledger (AOAL) is an independent, community-driven project building a transparent public registry of real-world asset information. We welcome research, public records, source documentation and corrections that improve the registry. That covers real-world assets of every kind: energy projects, buildings, land, infrastructure and more.

The gap

Finding information is not the same as knowing what it proves.

Records, ownership claims and supporting documents often sit in different places. AOAL brings them together in understandable profiles, showing what is documented, what has been checked and what remains unknown.

Where records live

Land registries, company registries, regulators, industry datasets and private documents each hold a piece. They rarely link to each other.

What tokens can't do alone

A digital token can record transfers, but it cannot prove on its own that an asset exists, who owns it or whether it is already pledged elsewhere.

What AOAL adds

One plain-language profile per asset that brings the sources together and labels every claim: documented, checked, verified or not established.

Research

What independent researchers have found.

These sources describe the problem. They are cited as background only and do not endorse AOAL. Good tools already exist for parts of this problem; AOAL does not claim to be the first or only one.

Our commitments

How we intend to earn trust.

  • Say clearly what AOAL is not, including that it is not asset-backed today.
  • Show the source and date behind every piece of information.
  • Label unknowns as unknown instead of guessing.
  • Mark planned features as planned, never as working.
